Some of you may have seen this on migweb, but for the rest of you, here's my little project.

Bought it in 2003, and modded it mildly, with just wheels and suspension, but came into some bad luck when an uninsured driver drove into the side of it, and I couldn't claim anything from anyone - in fact I'm still waiting for the MIB to contribute to the repair work. I vowed that I wouldn't change it due to it being a Champion Edition, but then decided 'f*** it', I'm not selling it so what the heck!

I've been heavily influenced by modified Dutch Kadett GSi’s (http://www.nukey.nl/gallery/ (nukey.nl)) , and with a little help from one individual (fluent in English), I managed to track down a number of parts in which to mimic their style.

Here's how she was in all her glory before the accident
http://sharpey.sirrar.dk/mig/champion.jpg

...and the nice modification added by the uninsured driver!

After which I set about drawing up plans and finding the right body shop willing to do the work. Apart from the damaged panels, I decided a full restoration was a good move and added new wings all round to the already descending list of things to do, such as:

- Irmscher style front splitter
- JMS rear skirt
- M3 sideskirts
- Bad-Boy bonnet
- De-locked doors
- Colour coded, handles, bump strips and skirts
- Irmscher tinted rear light clusters
- Bee-sting roof aerial
- Remove side repeaters
- Remove rear fog lights
- Remove number plate light
- Remove headlight washers

Here are the photos I have of the work in progress to date.

u getting euro deep dishes as well?

Would consider it on the long run, it all depends on the rear arches, and clearance. I already have enough problems with the current ones, and they're a ET45. Saying that, the old arches that have been cut out where really badly done. Mike (the guy doing the work), was disgraced when he saw them. So there may well be more space than I thought under those rears when I get it back. Who knows?

Note for admin: Please delete the other 2 threads I posted by accident, this was due to the amount of photos I was trying to link and the site struggling and timing out on me.

I don't think a set of 9J's are gonna fit under a standard arch somehow! As much as I'd love them too. I'm struggling enough with a set of 7x17's!

Ah yeah, so you have. Been having problems posting all the photos though, due to it timing out, which is irritating. I’ll eventually get them on here though ;)

those pics look familiar. I was the one that told u watch out for the cracking on the rails, 9" will fit, ull just have to pull the arches out a bit more, like some of those links u put up, havedone.

some fat 255's on the rear wouldnt go amis either ;)

those pics look familiar.

Well my intention was to put the whole lot up, but it keeps timing out when I do. The host server obviously can't handle me putting 50 odd photos in one post! So I'm puttin em on in drips and drabs.

Ronin,
Besides a telling-off for maybe bringing an old post up :D
Could you tell me what thickness steel was used along the roof gulleys ?
And how much from these steels did you leave to filler (filler depth i'm after :) )

Took my faded grey strips out earlier and want to fill in the same as you have and have a totally smooth roof :)

Cheers

Ciao

The best way is to have them lead filled, but I've had an 18 gauge slab of metal welded in with a really fine skim of filler over the top. It’s been over 6 months now, and it still looks good, no sign of cracking yet! (crosses fingers)

Oh... and stop bumping old threads :banghead:
