How Much (£££)

Just thought it would be interesting to find out how much money is spent upon the increasingly rare (modern) classic that is the Mk2 Astra?

For instance i approximate my spending on my car to be around £800, can't be too much more (inc buying car & tax & mot but not insurance) and I've nearly had it 6 months.

in roughly 5 months, including the car (£800), mot, insurance (£950) approx £4500

I reckon my total cost of ownership in the 4 years I've had it (see my sig )) is £3k including servicing & tyres, MOTs + work, but not including tax or insurance.

And to think my mate lost 1.5x that much after 2 years on a (newish) car that was slower and less fun

If you include tax insurance etc its unbearable and around £4.5k ... to include petrol would be heartbreaking!!! Ive just done some calculations and if i posted up how much i spend on fuel you wouldnt believe me

you can get a half decent motor and have it lookin smart as fook for that price!

no more than £1280 in mine, including insurance.

I bought it with they money I made stripping the previous 16v which cost £500 to buy and I got £900 back, £220 for the exhaust using my mates trade discount (should have been £300) £400 to insure and £160 for 4 new toyo's

the let has paid for itself in selling the bits of the calibra

why don't you buy a cheap runabout and in the meantime save up for sumat decent. 2.5k on train fares is phenomenal

ALL cars cost money to run, insure, fuel, tax, buy, modify etc,............so it would be depressing on virtually ANY car TBH. Add depreciation into the equation for newer high value cars too.

Since buying mine 13 months ago I've got receipts for spending over £5K on it,.....but the last lad had spent around £7K before I took the project over.

My Vectra on the other hand,..................



......................has cost me virtually nothing in maintenance/parts/mods etc in the two years I've had it, but on the flipside, it's worse on fuel than the Astra and costs more to insure.

I dont know, probably 10K or something stupid in modifications and repairs alone, half of that due to failed ideas! And its still a 8V N/A. Oh dear!
