  • Wheel Choice Dilemma

I'm pretty quick to recommend stuff for others but am USELESS at sorting myself out with decision making.

Due to an impending house purchase I have FINALLY managed to jig my fleet around and it looks like my White GTE is staying put and everything else is going. Part of the agreement with the IN-LAWS for help with the house is that I grow up a bit and cull my fleet. Fair shout I guess. I've got a buyer for Silky lined up so I know it is going to the home it really deserves. Black Corsa is away in a week or two and the green one is being broken up and all the go faster shizzle is going into my GTE.

All of my "stuff" is being sold off to fund one good motor which I am keeping. The rest is going into the house. Necessary but slightly gay in my opinion. I like owning stuff. It makes me feel important. :-)

Anyhow..........I can't make my mind up on rims. I want to stick to 15's. 4 stud. I like the Lenso BSX items as, in Gold, they have a poor man's touring car feel to them and the tried, tested, done to death Cav GSi slabs. However, in white, they don't quite look right to me.

The car is primarily for track use. Probably once or twice a year MAX as I am not going to have the disposable income now.

Any suggestions? Doesn't have to be Vauxhall and will consider 16's as road use will be minimal. Especially around here!

Davey i know exactly what your on about! I wasn't able to decide on a set for well over a year, i changed my mind about 6 times, even buying some cesaros along the way (soon to be sold off). I have now finally settled on my champion wheels and will get them refurbed shortly. However, when I saw a picture of this GSI....

which belongs to user Alen which he put up the other day showing OZ superturismos (I think) ive changed my mind again! I actually had a set of them but sold them on when I bought my white one-kind of regretting it now as I think they look awsome even though the offset wasn't et49. Other than that what about the compomotive range they have some smart looking wheels.

      That's a smart MK2!

Quite like those. Cesaros I am not a huge fan of personally. I have considered them.

What about the 5 spoke CDX wheels that look a little bit like Allessios? I have a set and no longer require, may even be able to refurb them in white for you. Depending on how long you can wait I may even be able to shod them in 2x Eagle F1 and 2x Federal RS-R (next best thing to 888).

That could work. I've looked at the TH Monos and like those. Harvey has those on his already I think. I also like the compomotive 5 spokes too.

I wouldn't need them refurbing. I can do that myself. I've got the best part of 15 cans of Glacier White at my unit at the moment. Just need a scruffy but straight set to tidy up.

          Tyres sound cool too.

          PM me.

LOL tell me about it. Went a bit crazy thinking I needed that much for my engine bay. FAIL! Still ideal for rear valance and lower corners when they go brown again.

Perhaps its my rally heritage but I prefer to see a Mk2 either on original wheels in whiteor a set of rally style wheels - Compomotive TH, TH2 or MOs are my favourite alhough the original works cars also used Revolution RFXs

If someone could reproduce the original 14's in a 15x7 inch format I'd go for them for certain.

personally if it is going to be seeing the track alot i would be sticking to the cav slabs as when the inevitable happens and you smash or crack one or two, replacements will be alot easier to source than the rarer choices

Me to! Compmotive could do it, but you'd have 20 sets and be a few grand lighter!

Some of the Saab 4 stud 5 spoke and multispoke are very nice though.
