yeha I used to have one in my car, but I took it out becase I wont need one with a roll cage! you have to cut the sunroof to fit the cage in.

We're about to convert AstraSteve23's over to electric sometime:cool:

carlton one fits better than cavalier one, (did a comparason with Astra Dans on Mig) you just need to trim a few mm of the lip at the back to tuck the trim in to hold the back up, if you know what I mean!!
cant beleive how easy it was!!, looks like its supposed to be there from factory!

manual sunroofs are gay...im wanting an electric one....i was hoping the roof off my cally would fit...cause its rotting on the drive...but ive been told no....

looking at dans (astra dan on mig) the surround doesnt fit that well, so if the carlton ones do, i'll have to investigate....and have a looky at the next meet if your there dave!

lmao

i would rather not have one at all.....

i had one in my mk2 golf gti....but never used it (manual)

and one in my cally...i only used that cause it was electric...

so its either electric, or not at all......i prefer the second!

Yeah the sunroofs are bolloks, they only break, Im on my third in a year PMFP!! Its going to be getting the angle grinder treatment when I fit the roll cage though so I dont care anymore that it wont slide.

Sarah, The cally sunroof motor is a different shape, I dont know if it mounts differently though, or if it makes any difference that a cally sunroof goes up and over the roof rather than down and under like on the Astra.

Steve - Its a Carlton one I gave you the other night.

There were 2 types of sunroof mech fitted to the Astra......

Early ones are a pain to fit a motor to as you've got to cut metal in the front to get the motor to fit, whereas later Astra sunroofs have an indentation in the front which gives more space for the motor to fit.. early ones (ie: pre facelift) were straight all the way along the leading edge.
