    Scrapyard RANT

Did my weekly scrapyard Monday trek and when i arrived i was told nobody was allowed in the yard. Then i was told 3 sets of keys went missing from the cars in the yard and i was the prime suspect as they went missing when i was last in the yard a week ago and i was the only one allowed in. WTF!!!

Can someone enlighten me why somebody would take car keys for if the car is smashed to bits. I am well peeved off so i went to a diffent scrappy instead the ****s

Also am i missing something as i was speechless when the gaffa told me. Fair enough if i did take keys but i aint and these are the type you dont argue with

Bizarre. Why would anyone want keys for scrapped cars, and since when do they leave the keys in them anyway? Been in at least half a dozen scrappers and I've not seen keys left in the cars, figured they either kept them in the office (in case anyone wanted the lockset) or just binned them. That's a totally unfounded accusation without evidence but all you can do is take your business elsewhere...

Much prefer the old-fashioned scrapyards where you turn up with tools and take what you want, there's not many left now but those that remain always seem busy. Not so long ago I climbed up into a scrap Mk3 Astra at the top of a stack and unbolted the drivers' seat with the whole car swaying around in the breeze! Nobody batted an eyelid, Health And Safety be damned

There is one quite close to me which is an old school scrappie, and charges you the price you would expect, not the "collectors" price! Not seen a MK2 in there for a while though although Daewoos are quite common in there.

just say it wasnt me - but iam happy to empty my pockets upon leaving the yard as yes i agree little parts do go missing behind the rusty dusty bonnets, bluebells / windows!
