  • Rare as!

If this is the motor I think it is, was once owned by Jason Ripp of Ripspeed or a friend of his. Remember it doing the rounds in the late 90's. Certainly looks like it any way! Was a trick car back then.

As long as it isn't as rotten as a waynetta fart could make an interesting project.

Interesting that. My wife wants it because it's green!

and besides, this old Opel 4x4 system should really not be called 4x4, since it is actually fwd with some drive on one wheel at the back . . . . . first of, without a locked diff in the rear(44%--->75%) its 3 wheel drive lol...And with about 25 to 30% drive at the rear. At most.

That sounds like a strange setup, why would anyone want such a thing?

well, it gets better if you put a locked diff on the rear axel, from Opel Omega A 1.8-->2.0i sedan with the small diff.

Then one should do something about the transfer box.... A company in Sweden do rework them in 3 different stages, depends on what U want to use the car for, road use to just straight forward drag race. Dont know exactly how to translate the right words to explain this from norwegian to english, but they reworl the box so it delivers more nm of force to the rear wheels. Then the transfer box itself must be reinforced, they weld thick plates and stiffen the box up! etc etc. And also cut out the hydraulic system. Then the "4x4" system of the old Opels/Vauxhall begins to be fun to drive with and realible But it is to costly and besides it will not endure the power U can get from a really tuned C20Let anyway. That`s why so many are starting to use Mitsubishi Evo 5 gear box and 4x4 system, also there are many options for the Mitsu-
