Hi Peeps,

Right had an issue with next door neighbours cat for months scratching my car, I've been able to t-cut previous ones out but came out today and it's done one right on the arch way and looking at it don't think I'll be able to t-cut it.

I'm proper angry over it, How do you lot keep cats of your cars??

I have just read up about this citrus wax where can I get this from?

My only other option is to shoot it with an air rifle!!!!

I'm wanting to re-spray the car and having second thoughts if this is going to happen!

Dude you cant go shooting it with an air riffle, thats just cruel! Pop down to B&Q or eblag etc you can get a speaker type idea that emits a high pitch sound that cats dont like and shoud keep it clear of your garden or at least the car.

Scratching chunks out of my car is just cruel aswell but he/she don't seem to care about that Lol.

Yeah I've seen these motion sensor things will pop down there tomorrow then and have a look.

Another option is to shoot it with a super soaker. Trouble is you have to catch it in the act though, so maybe the sonic thing is better.

dad had/has one of the sonic things in the back garden to keep their own cats away from his own pigeons. the cats waltz around like it doesnt exist, they walk right beside it, fall asleep in the garden below it.

peeing in the garden wont keep them away, neither do old wives tale stuff like lemon juice or pepper or curry powder in the soil.

the only thing that will keep a cat away is another cat! or maybe a dog, just incase your own cat scratches your car

How about buying a car cover? It'll prob put them off jumping on it but if they do at least it won't be on your paintwork.

Car cover is another option but it's my daily drive atm so bit inconvenient having to take it off every morning then putting it back on.

I don't own any pets so it's just frustrating me alot.

...he might look retarded but he's a rescue dog and in his former life and was used to hunt foxes and badgers. Needless to say we don't have any problems with cats anymore since he almost ate the neighbours cat. It kept shatting in the garden but after having him just miss it's arse by a centimeter it's decided to stay clear

I know it's a old thread, but pmsl!
I have had a lot of problems with the semi feral cats from the farm next door nesting in my gte, took me days to clean the seats

Needless to say we don't have any problems with cats anymore since he almost ate the neighbours cat. It kept shatting in the garden but after having him just miss it's arse by a centimeter it's decided to stay clear

We have 2 dogs now, a lot less feral cats But I have had the dogs scratch the cars bonnet, windsreen and roof! I even came home to find my dog on the roof of a defender I was welding up trying to get on the workshop roof to chase cats lol

Gaz we ve had to deal with the same prob loads of times because of our cats and neighbours, trust me the sonic thing dosent work at all mate total waste of money. Best thing is a cheap car cover and a water pistol.
