your right m8 its an ace, they are faster than a R! on the 1/4 anyway, you need a gixy 1000 or a r17 yamaha to get into the 9's the ace is actually hevier than a R1 thats how you can get you boot down easier, they do lift in 4 gears but very slowly. I miss my astra a lot but there was no point keeping it used 1 or 2 a month let someone else have some fun....Plus its the only bike upto the year 2001 to beat 11 sec mark.....
Its funny lads i had loads of fun in the astra and i mean loads but cars like the fq400 that i used to chase and get beat most of the time because of traction i piss all over i mean it looks like they are asleep, i went past one on the back wheel at 120 mph last sunday ( think it was a 340 mind not a 400) but i actually went past on the back wheel at 120 then continued to 160 ish.
TVR's its comical they are fast cars but on the A689 they try it on all the time you just wave and vanish...But i tell you where the biggest laugh is the A1 metrocentre road tail backs for 20/30 minutes sometimes straight threw the middle no probs..And before you start arguing about it it is legal to filter if the traffic is doing less that 20 mph..Leave the cages at home get a bike ;)

Than what ? a kid with a lolipop stuck in his spokes yes your right
When you have herd a remius at 13,000 rpm you will laugh at the sound a TVR makes mate...
You would have to have some size driveway for the motorhome m8 26' x 10'
it would carry your shopping though lol

Nope.

Not a patch on Speed Six/V8 thunder IMO.

lol the banter on this thread has made me chuckle! I never wanted to get a car after taking my bosses R6 for a spin at 17, but nobody would sign the "guaranteur" thing for me to get finance on a Cagiva Mito 125 so I got the astra. Initially I was going to get an Astra to track race, bike for fun and van for anything else. Being a bike lover myself I know exactly where John is coming from! However, I love my Astra and probably wont go over to bikes now until maybe I grow out of my mk2 love. As for engine noise, I am an avid fan of the noise from a V8, as me and my old man built an off roader based on a range rover chassis (shortened to 88"'s) and a Drew Bowler roll cage. The lump we dropped in was a 4.2l V8 and a custom exhaust. In my opinion, which is biast lol nothing beats the sound of a V8. The deepeness of the TVR is awesome and my dad also had a Chimera which I took out a couple of times, the sound to me is unbeatable.

i am a bike lover and have had quite a few and dont dislike the sound of them. but for me im with sipo the sound of a v8 just gett's me going alway's has alway's will, especially in a drop top tvr on summer evening's along the coastal roads. i did my apprenticeship at a reme workshop and have alway's had a thing for the rover v8, particularly enjoyed the 1 tonne forward control although it was a pig to work on and the bomb disposal sherpa's. nice landy by the way bet it was a hoot,

One of my best friends/our rhythm guitarist now, had a Chimera a few years back that we used to tool around in, and that's where I got addicted.

Well actually, I initially got addicted when I did the first part of my Mechanical Engineering BTEC at Bispham.............just round the corner from the TVR factory ;)
