Near miss in the cold weather anyone else ?

I was ploding along at 40mph in a national speed b road the road was clear of snow and was pretty clean but temp was at -6 and the road was straight.
Two cars up lost control on some black ice and hit the curb and the new corsa infront of me ,back light started to twitch on and of (gess it was abs) slid in to the back of her quite hard . I was about 50ft behind him . I managed to get it over to the snow next to the curb and stop the car .the car behind me slid forever and stopped about a foot behind me.

Anything happened to anyone else in the cold weather?

hit a curb at about 5mph made hell of a bang though probley put my tracking out as well frigin snow

Stuff my Nissan Micra Dec 23rd on Ice. Only doing around 10mph and the thing just folded! Pulled dent out and sorted wheel wobble. Needs a little Stone Chip guard to make good up front and a new license plate...............Couldn't do a thing about it. Happened so quick.

i had just left my house the other morning to go to work, road was white over, i was only doing about 20 mph went round a slight corner, front end went round without even twitching and then all of a sudden the back end tried to overtake me! wouldnt have been too bad but there was a car coming the other way with my rear end taking up his side of the road, managed to bring it back but i think i soiled a little

the last thing i wanna do is destroy the mattig, i think i'd cry.

had some old *** in a old 5series yesterday push through past a parked car on an ice covered road i touched the brakes and kept going hit the curb witha bang and stopped, he waved and smiled as he went pas,t luckly I just dinked the alloy but if it had gone up the curb there was a tree bout 12 inches back right where i hit the curb. was my right of way and i had commited.

i slipped up wen i was getting into my car from hair dressers and got alot of snow in my hair lol thats the olny thing me or the car has done lol

I got ran off the road the other day by a woman in a 4x4 coming the other way and ended up breaking through the ice and deep mud in the rut at the side of the lane, that was me properly stuck, van resting on the chassis, luckily my customer had a Range Rover and was able to tow me out, the thing that REALLY annoyed me was that she was in a Toyota Landcruiser and could easily have gone up the bank or through the ice around me but no she stuck doggidly to the middle of the road!!

Bloody ell Astrayorkie, that was close. Glad you and the Astra are ok.

I was out on the vans on Christmas Eve (driving a 7.5 ton truck delivering washing machines, TVs etc) and I got us stuck on ice in a small close.

Luckily a kind lady came out with a shovel and after I broke the ice my mate who I was with got us out (He had about 30 years experience on me).

Not pranged anything yet luckily, although I did slip over by my back door just before Christmas! I was alright, though.

mines stayin in the garage until the weathers better but i spun my work car the other day hand brake drifting it round a back road.. its quite hard to control a seat alhambra but good fun haha
