Pootling home half a sleep when a white bonnet slowly moves in to view next to me. Blacked out and lowered, loud exhaust GTE. I give the universal MK2 greeting, "The double take and the tumbs up". I follow for a little thinking I'd never seen another GTE the 18 months I've been up and down the A1. He pulls over to let me pass, then up behind me. I think we must race now.
Arse promptly handed to me at a non-legal speed. Big naughty grin on my face :D .
He came off at Peterborough then lost him on the Parkway. I did'nt have a chance to pass a flyer.
"Doff my hat sir"

P.S.
This member does not condone the use of excessive speed on public highways it is irresponsible and a danger to other road users.
But it is nice to zoom pass people. :D

This mate, almost made me fall off my chair! So so true! Whenever I see a mk2 I always do a double take, I very very rarely see any around my way. (Hence why Ive picked one up from Poole and one up from Yorkshire :D ) - A lot of the time the other does the same though anyways! Im guessing this was a valver if you had yer arse handed to you?
PS
Astra-mk2.com does not endorse law breaking on the public highways, including speeds in excess of the speed limits, illegal racing and illegal cruising. :p
It is nice to push your car once in a while though!

Saw my friend again as I drove home I my half asleep 60mph daze, zonking along in the fast lane. Gave the indicator flash before dispearing in the mist but then 5 minutes later he appered behind me! Gave the greeting.
I was too tried to play. Wanted to see if he pulled off at my junction so we could have a chat but he was too busy terroising a BMW. Good man.
can't beat a good blast with another mk2 (on "private" roads tho ;) ) especially when you get someone else trying to keep up and failing miserably :D
