Today i finaly got around to taking some pictures of "the shed" as it seems to get called! its a 1991 1.4 Expresion which is standard apart from clear side repeaters and some GTE rear clusters.
it needs a bit of work done to it (rust needs fixing, misfire, brakes over haul...) but thats all down to funds!
Everyones gotta start somewhere mate :D
Personally, id debadge the rear, darken the bumpers, colour code the front grill and mesh, wack on a Weber 32/34 and a decent filter, jobs a gooden :D
Then with all the money saved in petrol, buy one with a bigger engine in a years time :D
Or wack in a valver engine and make it a 5 door GTE replica? :D
Youve started off better than me dude, the 1st one was a merit here :D ... dont think ive seen an expression before. Like addz said reall, keep any mods cheap and simple and save for something bigger ;)

colour coding the grill would prob look good, colour coding the bumpers would prob look poo on standard bumpers and you could prob pick up some GTE ones in the same colour, removing the bump strips would give it the merit look, de-badging is a must, maybe get some GTE rear lights.
I did an open mouth grill on my sri, that looked good ;)
de bade it fella ,i did the open mouth on my merit grille and it looks good ,ive got oit on my SXi now but its still in primer

Its what u reckon will look best on the car. with debadging etc u can always undo what u've done.
personally, i've debadged mine but want to put some mk4 badges on (but i'm not haveing much luck winning them on ebay  )
I colour coded my std bumpers and i think it looks quite good. but my car is black. i think i'll get some corner splitters front and rear if and when i lower it a bit.
i'm with steve on the bump strips. i took mine off as the adhesive was working loose in places and it just doesn't look right. at some point i'll get some new ones from vaux.
i'm not one for making a gte replica as i'm not one for dressing it up to look like something that it isn't. i laugh at the 1.2 corsas dropped on their ass, looking all aggresive with 12 exhaust pipes. they don't get results at the traffic light grand prix ;)

the car has had GTE lights since i got it n also since i took the pics ive back to blacked the bumpers n it looks way tidier!
On its way is a SXI rear spoiler and headlight brows that i got real cheap, so dont matter if they look rubbish!
one of the reasons i was gonna take the bump strips off was because one was damaged due to a hit n run n has a massive chunk taken out of it! The badges will come off this weekend, the front one is just glued on like the rear ones isnt it?

Looks like a good start you've got there looks nice and clean. What rust do you need fixing, the arches ??

the pics make the car look alot better than it is lol
The rust is the arches on the inside lip they are becoming a bit flakey, i need to get it sorted before it takes hold. Also theres a bit where the sill meets the arch and in the boot next to the n/s light cluster.

Gave it a go. Had to put bigger wheels on it though

D355: Vauxhall sell them, and way cheaper than you get them on ebay. Got my Sri MK4 badges from a vauxhall dealer too.
Doesnt taking the front badge off leave 2 holes in the bonnet?
