is a gte16v worth £300

hi all; i have seen a 16v for sale elsewhere and the sellar wants £300 for it
but it has no interior, it is purple in color and the engine has been re-con
150.00 miles ago. the speedo is showing 142,000 miles.
is this car worth that amount?thanks.

The engine and gearbox are worth that matey. When you say no interior - does it have seats etc? A full interior can be picked up for around 40 - 60 quid. I suppose it comes down to the general condition of the car, ie rust etc and how much it would cost for you to put it on the road. Is it tax'd and MOT'd etc?

When you say re-con as in a vauxhall re-con ,is the engine a coscast ?

I'd be wary of a dodgy 're-con' at that price.

SIPO: there is no interior, because he has sold it to someone else
Kris: i thank the engine is a coscast, because it is a F reg.

I got just short of £900 when I striped my last coscast 16v (£350 just for the engine) I kept the interior as well.

I should be able to help you out with most of an interior.. I really need to get rid of my spare car.

Easily worth that money, I paid £400 for mine last year. All depends on the condition though, mine was tatty looking but not as rusty as some.

As already said, interiors are very cheap these days.

not all F reg GTE's are coscast! brett's is a F and its not coscast! you can also find coscast on newer stuff too. you will have to look to no for sure.

Mines an F reg as well and isn't a cocast either.

Easily worth £300 and if you cant get an interior off anyone i have full interior out of one im breaking , carpet , front and rear seats and front and rear door cards and whatever else is needed
