For those who have been following this thread in the 'Show Us Yours' section I've asked Admin to move it into here as it's more a diary of the car so thought it more appropriate to have it in this section of the forum.

It's still here but currently hibernating under a cover on our drive as we haven't used it for the last 7 months. it's still 8 miles short of hitting 50K at 49,992. Will get pics when it eventually rolls over.
Plan is to get all the panels together that are needed for a bit of tlc and get it in the bodyshop later this year. It needs rear inner and outer arches, sills, footwells, and front n/s wing. Don't get me wrong it's not rotten but not to my standards. I've had a few months off cars over Winter but now have loads on with my GTE so doubt the SRi will be out this year. It still currently has tax, mot and ww have just renewed the insurance so we hope to get it though another mot this year before I rip it to bits in preperation for the bodyshop.

Just happened to be doing a random search on eBay and found a pair of genuine SRi door stickers for a grand total of £2.74, bargain. They have been NLS from Vauxhall for years so are extremely rare to come by.

After helping Keif with his wifes Corsa C handbrake and fitting new rear shoes on Monday he offered to try and spruce up the SRi bonnet so Thursday I popped.
It was the first drive of the SRi since early September last year and it started first turn of the key. After about 5 minutes a milestone was reached so we had to pull over and take a picture. It’s now official, the SRi has covered 50K.

When we arrived the scuttle was masked as well as the bonnet badge. You can see just how bad it was.

There are some deep scratchers that won’t polish out, god knows where they came from. Plan is to get the panels needed and then a full respray later this year due to rust monster munching at the rear arches and just a general dullness of the existing paint work.

Looking great Harvey, amazing what someone who's good with polish can do. Personally I've not got the patience, I have done it in the past but ended up rushing it and being disappointed. Those deep scratches look very similar to the ones on the roof of my one, which was a fox jumping onto it as far as I can tell...

That looks great, Harvey.
To be fair tho, for a car of that age the paintwork is still very good.

MOT time this Friday at 09:30, fingers crossed there isn't anymore tin worm like last year.

The SRi passed its MOT last Saturday with no advisories, main reason being it only covered 460 miles between MOT's. Just need to decide what we're doing with it now as it's either get rear arches done or sell it.

Time to reserect this thread as the classic insurance policy has been renewed for yet another year, bonus being it was £10 cheaper. The plans for the car this year are to get the rear arches sorted again but properly this time, as well as a few other bits and piece which are beginning to look a little tired. The SRi has only covered 38 miles since this time last year so it's now sitting at 50,030 miles.

Look forward to seeing it Harvey. I need to get off my backside and sort the SR's bodywork too, it's been in limbo for too long...not deteriorating really, but not getting better either!
