Ello guys and gals....

I dont post here much but I think it would be nice to keep a diary of what im doing (although Ill apologise now for it as it WILL be long winded and probably boring lol)

Ive only just purchased a digicam so some of the mods Ive done already but Ive taken pics of them anyway...

Here are some general pics of my mk2 convertable...

There arnt many rust spots at all which is lucky, but here are the bad patches...

A quick glimps around the interior.. You can probably spot the wear and tear areas, but im planning on re-trimming all the cloth and carpet to match the new dash trim bits I picked up today from my favourite scrappy. Seeing as the upper dash is black, I thought it would be nice to match the centre console, glove box and pillars in black aswell...

Heres a pic of my previous mk2 which is now my doner car for updated switches and a few other bits which I had on there such as the nicer stalks and steering wheel

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/jerbil/MyCar1a001.jpg

The engine is thankfully as mint as you can find in such an old car, no oil or water leak but I did have a slight problem with one of the leads so I swapped them for champion leads and NGK Rspec plugs...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/jerbil/acef80c1.jpg

I will be fitting these alloys as soon as I go rust-busting (but I might go for an aftermarket body kit such as the stunning wide-arch kit same as the one thats in the for sale section)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v289/jerbil/MyCar1a002.jpg

My near-future plans are to mintify the interior, flush and clean the engine and bodywork...

Plus front and rear strut braces...

After that I shall be going nuts under the bonnet with a cam, intake and zaust upgrade, re-map and after finding a post about the turbo kit you can get for £650 for the 8v, thats defintaly on my list!

Right Ive babbled on for long enough so I shall get back to actually doing some work on the car lol..

Cheers!

Well this weekend ive been a busy boy....

(ILL UPDATE WITH PICS SOON, BUT FOR NOW, HERES THE JIST OF WHAT IVE DONE)

On Friday I got around to fitting in all the black trim bits and I have to say what an amazing difference it makes to the look of the interior! My mate is thinking of selling some sports seats and they are very tempting (black trim seats straight out of a corsa sport, so they are nicer buckets and should be comfy, might need to change the sub-frame though).

Today I finally got around to finishing off fitting in the central locking and at the same time I swapped the GM door locks for SOLEX locks, much better in my opinion....

This week I shall be:

Hunting around for leccy window mechs from a drop top so I can get leccy windows in and be arsed to sort out the door cards and seals...

Looking for a roof handle as when I got the car, one was missing and in its place there was a block of wood with a hook drilled through it with a nut on the end (which I broke tonight.... whoops)

Getting my alloy fixed so I can have the full set on the car (had a look at the rear arches and they are a slightly different shape to the tin tops so they will fly on with minimal effort)

Getting around to fixing my g/fs Tigra while she is on holiday (problems with her car are: Passenger leccy window, sunroof, speedo, reversing lights, heater matrix, rear demister, both wing mirrors and locking... and i have 2 weeks LOL!!)

Helping my mate fit a C20LET into his nova (mad fool thinks his XE engine isnt powerful enough even though its pushing out approx 180bhp)

Looking for a job

Buying some decent hand wash stuff as im fed up of having half black hands all the time

And last but not least, getting a quote from my local friendly zaust specialist for a full stainless with manifold and some sort of hanf tidy back box....

Its a quiet week this week, so I should get alot done :D

Well the past 2 days have been very productive!!

(FOUND OUT THE G/F HAS TAKEN THE DIGI CAM TO ITALY WITH HER SO NO PICS FOR A WHILE UNLESS I GET AN UPLINK KIT FOR MY PHONE!!)

Yesterday I spent all day on the g/fs Tigra and got all the problems sorted so I earned some browny points there :D

Today Ive been removing ALL the plastic trim from in the bumpers, scuttle panel, boot handle/lock thingy, petrol cap, number plate light etc etc and primered them all up ready for spraying matt black to give them that fresh new look :D

Also, the C20LET is now fitted in my mates Nova but its still not running untill he gets some pieces made for it.

Either tomorrow or the weekend I shall be rust busting along with spraying up the bits and poppiing down the post office after Ive met my friends sister who I 'Have to meet because she is my type' pillock lol.

Thats all for now!

Cheers Grak, Ill keep that in mind :D

Right, the latest....

Ive sprayed all the trim on the outside of the car and it makes all the difference!

managed to clean up the engine bay a little more so thats an improvment, along with T-Cutting the whole car which brought up the paint lovely and revealed a repair spot!

Last night I fitted and plugged in the front fogs finally, lovin it!!

Got turned down for another job aswell yesterday so all the work will have to be put on hold for now untill i can source some income, but still got loads to do!!

Thats all for now!

getting rid of the light gray plastic for black makes a BIG difference. i did it in mine to the centre console and glove box, i used plastic primer and matt black paint though, didnt find a black interior.

You right, its much better inside now than half and half!

Today Ive been having some fun with the headrests. Ive removed the ones that were in the front seats and replaced them with the nicer ones with the hole in the middle and fitted some to the rear seats so now the front and rear seats look complete :D

I need to get 2 of the alloys sorted aswell now, 1 has a nice fat screw stuck in the treat on the tyre (should be repairable) and 1 cracked alloy....

Pretty soon once the income has started again Ill look into some OE alloys maybe from a slightly newer VxL...

Im trying to convince my gf to buy some stuff (which is proving to be hard) but if she goes for it, then thats the suspension, brakes, windows and roof sorted!!

She has also brought my digicam back from here trip so Ill get some recent pics up as soon as I get my hands on it :D

Cheers!

Ello guys and gals...

Today was a beautiful day, so I used it to the max....

I got some stuff done with the car of course :D

Got around to removing and spraying the door handles, finishing off the foglight holes (as they wernt perfect.....) and attacking a few light scratches....

Weather permitting, tomorrow I shall be taking a crap load of photos of the car as she is now and put them side by side from when I first got her...

And of course filling the other posts in this thread with the relevent pics to keep with my promise!!!

This week the plan is..... (not that I expect to get any of this done but..)

Strut braces all round

Source some 5 stud hubs to replace my 4 stud (in theory) so I can get some tidy v6 brakes on there

Burn/cut down the trees outside my house as they keep covering my car with tree sap within 10 min of me washing it

Change the filters on the car (oil, air, fuel) and replace some old/knackered/worn hoses/pipes with fresh shiny stuff

Finally get around to the engine flush when I do the oil filter change....

Not much, but enough to keep me occupied for now.

More info and finally pics soon!!
