ok folks

decided that while my 16 valver will be off the road for a while for its resto i would try and find a nice cheap astra to run around in

picked this up off ebay for the princely sum of £132

just stuck a tyre on it and a couple of bulbs and it now has a new shiny 12 months mot!!

underneath this thing is so solid i cant believe it sills are untouched

Proper bargain :)

Still learning about MK2's, but were those alloys specifically an option for the 16v's or did some of the 8 valvers leave the factory with them?

Those alloys were standard on all GTEs from when the 16V came out I believe.

i must admit the black door worried me too at first but i couldnt see any other damage so decided to bid on it
transpires the door was crow barred in an attempted theft
seller could only find a black gte door as replacement

will any three door astra door fit or are gte doors specific?
