It has been a while since my project started .....since i bought it. lol.
anyway that's almost 3 years a go.
First there where some simple thing's but i always have a problem when i go somewhere to buy in my case a astra mk3 dash.
I return with more than only a dash.
So I bought also a red top engine. The first step was to polish every piece from this engine.
Whell i have not driven my car since last year october and i feel really
itchy to ride it. Especially after what has been done.
How it was

the XE
http://members.chello.nl/a.smith17/Cabrio16v/16VProgress/C20XE-1.jpg
The plan was last year. october build the engine in and a winter sleep for the cab.
I ended up in porting the head. This took significant time because off the precise work!
The bottom needed a paint job
http://members.chello.nl/a.smith17/Cabrio16v/16VProgress/C20XE-3.jpg
After really many many many hours off polishing (you really must be crazy to take so much time to polish it)

There are really a lot off picture´s from the work on the head and alot other thing´s but the free servers have alway´s the
problem to go offline after a period off time.
i was putting all the bit´s together :)
http://x2.putfile.com/4/9918531525.jpg
For the final...i have matched the intake on the ports on the head. Also the gasket

After the head was finished i have cutted out hole's for the cam-pulley's > easy tip take a slight used cutting wheel (grinding tool)from 115 mm !
http://x2.putfile.com/4/10717092477.jpg
Than i took the engine out.

http://x1.putfile.com/7/20406131685.jpg
I took me also a lot off time to sort out the astra wiring loom what wire needs to be connected to the other.
Becasue i wanted to keep the funcionality from the Astra Board computer. I beg people in the near not to say a color code otherwise i will awnser on wich it has
too be attached. lolll.

http://x4.putfile.com/6/15420115668.jpg
After alot lot of 'under bonnet' or technic out of sight.... styling time !
Ive made my own front bumper
http://x1.putfile.com/8/21302042966.jpg
But i sold it because i was not satisfied with it.(also with future turbo plans IC space)
So i got made myself this one

New Rims 9x17

I do some trade in spoilers skirts and stuff.
This producer made this one for me.

those wheels are monster big the tyres are 215 they look like they could take 235
are you going to roll the rear archs any more as look like they rub?

Thanks for the positive reactions,
To england, scotland or ireland, i will sell it but not to holland :D
don't like copy cats in the same street. beside's most dutch are afraid for extreme styling.
only problem i have is how to ship these over sea.... and the price !!!
about the chassis, ive don somethin not much have done with there astra.
off course it has been done but i haven't seen it in the way i have done/ am doing because it isn't finished yet

are you sayin your sellin the car?
No NOOO :D no way im going to do that...i have spend so much time in moddin every part....it would be crazy
About the porting... i used some tools! but it's all hand work.
ok i didn't use a flow bench or what ever you call it to check the most optimum flow.
All i can say is, im sure it will help for power!
Soon i will test it with report  after all after so many work im curious what it will do.
Ill put some foto's and some advise in a other section otherwise it might get lost and hard to find ;)
@storming i believe it's not cheap. around € 250 maybe a little more or less.
But there have to be made 2 mounting point's on the stock places (where it bolts under the head light's but form is perfect
pic from how it currently is (the former foto was shopped a little how i want it to look, on the picture it isn't mounted it only stands on a couple of cups's)

@Black Magic
what do you like ??
here's the current engine bay...
http://x2.putfile.com/7/18718103997.jpg
Ow yes and here's a video clip how the engine runs, don't worry engine is already hot ;) and about the water, the radiator needs another fan

i like the front grill, but having a fine eye for detail, i notice the right hand side isnt as close to the wing as the left hand side. is the bumper out, or is it due to the fact that it isnt mounted at the sides, & be rectified(fixed) when its all bolted up/screwed in?
Only thing i would have in place of the big air vents either side, is big Spot lights like Subaru's have. Could u maybe make something like that? or photoshop something like that?
regardless of cost, if u could produce one, id be interested in buying it.

This bumper can be modified..!!! to each desire ! my producer of spoilers
is really an artist. he has devolped his own lambo style mechanism :D totally awsom.
indeed the bumper was not mounted by any screw it was standing on a drink cup.
Impressive project you`ve got going on there :)
How come you kept the bulkhead sound deadening on ?
With such a nice colour, I think it would brighten the engine bay up alot if you were to take it off ;)

the black rubber thing thats behind the engine he means.
so if ur "producer" can make other types of front bumpers, can u tell him details 7 get him to produce one on a computer or a sketch please?
Looking good there ,alot of effort your putting into it .Its nice to see you taking on the flowing yourself as aposed to paying someone to do it .

I mean , if you were to take it off, the bulkhead should be the same colour as the engine bay.

Hi watch the vid
Sounds to me as if there's a slight missfire on the engine most noticeable when you rev it at the throttle body by hand (about halfway through vid)
However nice project you've got going there, however Im not a fan of the bumper to be honest - but each to their own!

I will do this when my engine goed out agian …..(you all must think….you haven’t drove the car yet)
This has got a reason.
Today i recieved my paint. from the USA, My car is getting painted in Poland. (relative low cost comparing than in holland) Because is a hell off a job to build the engine out. (kabels) i want to paint the complete engine bay in the winter periode or when i will mount a fresh under lump for my turbo project. Until then it stays on.

thank u sir. thats just what i needed to see, on the mk3 front wings.
can i ask, how hard was it to put them wing corner pieces in, & lineing it all up properly to the indicator/light unit?
& do us a favor. spray the damn thing!!!

@ vauxracer looks also very sweet
regarding.. the corner lights they are in one piece with the main lamp.
so that makes it extra hard to fit they on the way i fitted them.
It can be easy to build the mk3 lights in but for the looks you get a bit short engine hood. i have done another one and ill post the pic.
But i my case i was much nicer to make the bonnet longer because of the long front bumper and let the light mount in one line with the bumper (look from the side)
and sure i post the pic asap when its finished. but it looks like that it's not finished before end august
