Thought it was about time i put up a post in this section seen as i've been a member for some time now :)
Had the astra for about 8yrs now! Sadly i haven't got any old pictures from when i bought it. However is was pretty much standard bar some nasty 15inch 3 spokes!! :o
The first mod, surprise surprise, was some 16inch Voodoo's. Along the first 5yrs of ownership the car got the usual exhaust, suspension mods. Bit of work on the ole 20XE such as cams, chip etc.
The last 3yrs has seen the most change pariculary performance wise! :D
Summer '02 saw the purchase of a C20LET, which with the help of a mate fitted snuggly into the astras bay. Not long after, after getting used to the power it now has a bigger FMIC, collins chip & hybrid turbo. Using the Apexi AVCR, power is roughly 270 - 280bhp at the moment with similiar tourqe figures.

Also within the last 3yrs the interiors been reduced some what, replaced with a pair of Sparco Pro2000 seats, momo wheel, custom rear cage etc
(yeah i know i've still got the nasty colour dashboard/interior) :o

Latest addition is a new bonnet with some vents from coollouvres. Also fitted some bonnet lifters at the time.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v486/Anthony16V/coollouvres.jpg
Current status is that its now getting fitted with a nice new full set of suspension bushes thanks to Rob@rsc. Also getting the oil cooler fitted back on!
Future plans are for a full rebuild over the coming winter. Planning on steel rods, under piston oil sprays, low comp pistons etc. Then once its all run in, a little dose of nitrous :D

Very nice! I like what you've done with the boost controller and AFR gauge.
What intercooler is that you've got?

Cheers for the comments :)
The car is round at a mates house at the moment so will get some pics of the seats when i get a chance mate.
Best time down the strip is a 13.67. I have had a 13.23 before although i'm a little dubios of that one as the 60ft and terminal speed dont add up :(
Daza.. think its a Pace item although not 100% sure. Graeme from ATC done that work for me. :)

Very nice car mate :)
I really need to meet up with someone who has a MKII turbo. I think it will make me pull my finger out and get mine sorted lol :)
Ooooh that looks pure sexy mate, I love that. I think the MK2 bonnets with the pressed vents loke really good as well.
All in all, spanking car :D

Right, its been a while since the last update but the car is slowly making progress :)
Decided to let steveboyslim from mig rebuild the engine. After spending all my money on the bits the last thing i wanted to do was cock it up :o
Should get this back within the next few weeks and start running her in.
Engine bay wise, done the ususal welding of the bay etc and fitted some harry hockley engine mounts.
Was very pleased no rust at all around the steering rack area and bulkhead:Banane44:
Once the engines run in, i'll be fitting my WON kit which T.F.S. from mig got me for a nice price:)

Cheers mate. Plenty of plans, but not enough money unfortunately:hissyfit: Got to save for a wedding next year:)
Future plans atm tho, are... new manifold/turbo, black comp mo's and a proper full weld-in cage. Finally got my hands on a black dash, just need to get off me arse and fit it tho!

Believe it or not... we have an update
Eventuall got round to getting a few jobs done which i've had in the pipeline for ages now so chuffed with car again. Spent more money than i'd hoped as my mate talked me into pretty much a full respray to tidy the car right up.
Main job was the new roof to get rid of the sunroof! After realising the new roof skin from opel classics was not for a mk2! We went 'Harvey' style and chopped a complete roof of another mk2!
Other job was removal of my old rear cage... and fitted in place a 6 point bolt in safety devices cage which i had powder coated white.
Pics...

How come the manifold is laid out like that rather than Robs "rams horns" style one?
Can I ask where the manifold was sourced?

because when rob got his he sent it back saying he was not happy that the turbo did not fit on it properly, so robs was sent back and a new one was designed bases on robs turbo choice, that manifold is the one now being sold to everyone else

i would still get a baily / alloy header tank:thumbsup:
i nearly did change it for a bailey item but changed my mind as you no longer have the water level sensor.... and after driving back from nurburgring with a split radiator this proved invaluable!

There is another make of tank that uses the standard cap and sensor, Mark F I think has one. Can't remember the name of the company off the top of my head.

Just buy a brand new OE header tank as they are only about £20 and it'll finish your engine bay off looking all nice and new.
