  • My new Mk2

As most of you know I have just bought Exclusive Mark's silver 1.3 Auto, and it is in fantastic condition, with a minimal amount of rust and clean arches etc.

There are a few niggly jobs that need doing but overall the car has been well looked after by Mark and its previous owners.

So far I have changed the fanbelt as the old one looked a bit sorry for itself.

    Future Plans include:

Replace duff O Ring seal on the distributor
Possible new sump as it has a small weep (probs due to stone chips)
    Cambelt and waterpump imminently
Full SRi Bodykit and respray (colour undecided)
    Irmscher Taillights
Speedline Alesio 2's (when they come back from refurb)
    Stainless Exhaust
    Snap Off Steering Wheel
    Possible drop 30mm ????

    Pics

I love the standard bumper, a real blast from the past.

Not quite the only one in the club, but close!

it really is like going back 20 years lol,
My dad is driving it this weekend says it drives like a new car.
I'm gonna keep all the standard kit so i can put it back to stock should the need arise.

PS Might have to think up another username LOL

Ooooh... rad looks interesting - can you measure it for me please?

Height of the 'core' bit, overall height including and excluding the lugs, thickness (front to back) of the finned area, and overall width please...

A photo that shows the fan would be good too, perhaps taken from the nearside rear corner of the bonnet, looking forwards.

            Cheers,

            Ian.

I had a 1.3 merit years ago that I bought for 50 quid. it was a nippy little thing and the handling was interesting

I'm thinking I might lower it a little just to stable stuff up a bit lol

decent springs & shocks and a strutbrace will make it a different car

see if there are any 16v front legs on ebay, that'll drop it a touch and give some better brakes at the same time

gonna put some 16v disks on it as I did it on my van never looked back, unfortunately you can't fit 16v legs as they have different spline pattern to the smallblock auto.
