Cheers guys, you would have seen it on Mig.

Im just in the finishing stages of fitting a 2ltr 8v, so its basically a GTE now, as i changed the entire cars wiring for GTE stuff. Unfortunately the rear bumper got ripped off, so its just got a std GTE on fitted at the moment in white, looks a bit odd but ill get it sprayed in a similar colour soon.

i like it mate.

where did u get the bumpers and skirts from?

i'm hoping to aquire a 5dr gl in the not too distant future. had my eye on bumpers from tuning.co.uk but it looks like they have scaled down on what they sell 4 mk2's now.

whats the colour and code of the paint too?

my aim is a two tone midnight blue upper and mat black under, but have to see if my dreams can be realised! :D

The front bumper is a genuine mk3 gsi, which i put the s-type splitter onto and modified the 'big mouth' opening. The rear bumper is a rieger infinity one, with the insides ripped out, and bits of a gte bumper bonded into it.

The paint was a one off mix that i had lying around, but i ran out doing the shell. The bumpers are the closest match i could get, and that was an audi colour, but the had to be lacquered, wheras the rest of the car is just painted in celly and polished up.

Its not a great finish, but im pleased with it as i have done all the work myself, it has never been near a bodyshop or workshop.

Im afraid i dont at the moment, although i can take pics of the fron tonight as i have the front bumper off the car, but the rear is in a mess after an incident with a speedbump

That would be perfect mate ,i just need to see what needs cut and what needs putting in for it to line up .

Basically i cut the front bumper mount box sections off, and welded in new brackets drilled to fit the gsi brackets. For the sides, i cut out the mk3 mounting points, and bonded in the mounting brackets from a std mk2 bumper, although if the mounts are good on the mk3 bumper, you can just drill holes into the lip on the wing and bumper mount point and bolt them on. ill get some pics so you can see properly

Right the front bumper the home made brackets are shown below

http://img259.echo.cx/img259/167/image0320kq.jpg

on the sides you can see one hole drilled, there should be another where the wing lip is, but it doesnt show.

these allow the bumper sides to be bolted on using the original mk3 mounts

or as i did, make the mk2 mounts fit the inside of the mk3 bumper
