Its a 1.3 GL powerhouse i bought as a run around in november 04 its done 120.000miles and still running well!!

Definatly a credit to its makers and will see off mk3 merits with ease :D ;)

they are good little engines those 1300 carbs, I had one in my first car and it motored along very nicely. Only had 4 gears though:(

the 1300 is 75bhp and 75lb/ft or torque. they weight about 880kg's! pretty nippy. the engine will easily outlive the shell!

lmao mine lived 5 months in my possesion and it had been rebuilt 3k before that :D

OP can't see it surviving much longer it gave up on me this morning on the way to work had to be towed home rear brakes have let go by the looks of things its mot'd till end of july you can rape it for bits then if you like :).
