    hay guys im new too this i joined a fu weeks bk n ive have bin reading fu of the bilds on here ive just restly got a astra mk2 off a mate of mine i was wonting too bild a track car just go out at the weekends too mess with but i had a colt 1.6 siting in my luckup allread with a big engine prob the head had cracked in a fu plases on it but i was wonder how the hell i get rid off it enen the guy says he get rid of it for me so i was like ok then so we swoped over cars n the colt was gone thank god !

    as far as im a wear it a 2l gte 8v mk2 but ive nostist in the manul i got with it it says it a 1.8 gte so i when on too start it (O forgot too say i find this car in a feld on a traler on a farm) eneyhow i when too start it n says too guy were the keys soz mate a ant got eney for it i lost them i was like O fuge eney way i got the bk of the barl off n try too get it going it starts n then the i c fuel all over the shop i shut everthing off n the fuel lines had rupshured this the start of the story for this car

    here a wee list of other things rowng with hur
    fuels lines
    the wheel archs bk 2 need welded
    the drivers flour
    the fuel fuller
    n it needs a intera seats in carpet
    sunroof
    all the bk 2 shocks
    front lower wishbones both sides / tierod bars / balljoins
    brakes disks /pads
    bk wheel cylinders

    all the eletrics work fine and the dige dash

      Its likely to be a 1.8 gte if it is a 1985 or 1986.

      The head from the 1.8 is desirable to those with 2ltr bottom ends as I think the valve ports are larger. Bare that in mind if you have to rebuild the engine too.

          thanks guys the car is on a e plate n thanks for the engine advise but it bin painted over with gray paint gwolf O i forgot too say the astra got a bodykit on it

            hay guys i just got a wee update for yas i jacked the car up the day too c how bad the fuel r n it truns out there shot n i had a look at the bk wheel clynder too it had it as well n the wee tie rod snaped in too when i jacked the car up but i got parts ordred just have too pay for them eneyho the both lines r out

              You can tell if it's 1.8 or 2.0 by the distributor. If the distributor is fixed then it's a 2.0. Also on the 1.8 the throttle body is a twin butterfly.

              Not being funny, but if possible could you type less in txt style please - it's very hard to read. If you have a genuine problem with typing don't worry

                      right how easy is it too put a 6 speed box in a mk2 n a let or ex 2l trubo ??
