Any gen on these engines? Like what were they fitted to etc? I am assuming MK3 Astras and am told they were 125bhp. (Thread on Mig)

Think it would be an interesting alternative in a MK2 shell coupled to a MK2 SRi F16 gearbox...................................

just had a word with the boss and a c18xe is a 1.8 16v fitted to the early astra sport and the f16 will bolt to it so will be kool

it would be cool for sheer uniqueness, but pretty pointless exercise since its identicle to the 2 litre version in every way but the capacity. if your gonna sling a big block in there, you might aswell get the one with most power out the box.

Not really all that pointless. The car it is potentially going in is a 1.8..............keeping it a 1.8 will help on the insurance front, PLUS like has been said it'll be different.

20XE's are everywhere and to be honest it gets incredibly boring seeing them. I have had countless XE engine'd cars, and just thought it would be a little different, and seeing as most of them are making nearer 145bhp any way, I think that it would make a very interesting alternative.

Just need to find one......................
