Flat top racing pistons

Straight through Free Flow exhaust

True...but I literally got the whole car minus ECU for literally let than R5k. Which wud be 353 odd pounds if u convert it. The body has almost no damage, the worst wud be to replace the bonnet.

Its got a 1.8 8v GSI Fuel Injected engine..which im reboring to 2.0 and looking for a 16v head. Iv got sidedraghts (40s) and im lightening the body quite a bit.

Oh hell yeah!! Iv always wanted three things in a car: 1 - it must be a 2 door; 2 - it must be black; 3 - it must be convertible....oh well 2 outa 3 aint bad.

Im taking my time with it. Its not gona be a speed machine but I want it to be a show car with plenty of grunt....Im looking at a min of 150kw+-

Im actually lucky in the sense that I got a brand new pair of elec window arms with, lots of brand new suspension spares and odds n ends. She looks worse than she is becoz shes dirty.

I was lucky enough to find a scrapyard this weekend with a lightly smashed GSI like mine...it still had the GSI rear lights ( which are extremely RARE and HARD TO FIND here) both in perfect condition, I bought the right hand side one...which I needed, im going back for the left side one soon as a spare, and its got the original Rear bumper ( which is almost just as rare )...all it needs is to be sprayed black. Luckily for me aswell is these parts are cheapish so iv scored big time!! :bananajump: :Banane47: :Banane44:

Well done dude, do you get your cars rusting away like we do?

Count DRAGula
29-05-2007, 07:29 AM
Yes we do...but its worse at the coast. When u buy a brand new car outa the box at the coast, they extend ur warranty and anti-rust protection warranties.

The reason why my GSI is rusted is coz its been standing for +- 9 years before I found and bought her.

the body has like 2% of light rust on it...its just the bonnet that makes her look bad. Planning on getting a badboy bonnet as a replacement...but itll be modified slightly. Need new lights all round and bumpers..the rest is just dirty but in good condition

On average....from R5500 to R11000. Thats bout 406 pounds to 812 pounds, more or less.

The turbo engines start form R15 000 upwards....like 1108 pounds and more.

And most of em are second hand...so u prob gotta overhaul them for piece of mind

Dale
