  • Astra GTE 16v Turbo

    Thought it was about time I posted in here, especially as i have actually been working on the car this weekend.

    The task was to fit the new suspension struts and steering arms and new brakes.

    As it turned out, I only completed one side as it looks like the springs and dampers are forest spec as it raised the car by about 2 inches!!!.

    Anyway, here's some pics;

    Close up of steering arm joint to rack - you can see the bolt isn't done up properly, it can't be as it needs a spacer.

    As above.

    Gratuitous engine shot.

    New brakes and strut fitted, jesus, Is that high!

    Close up.

    General suspension shot.

    Close up of standard ride height.

    New brake line made by yours truly.

      It's the suspension legs that move the caliper to the rear.

          Yeah, just abit. The springs that are on it are the same length but a lot thicker, so the care doeen't settle it'll stay raised like that as the struts and springs are for the forest.

                    Do you mean are they vented? If so, then yes they are.
