Ooooh tidy motor dude :p ... That engine is so clean it almost doesnt look like an engine lol. At least, not what i would associate with a MK2 Astra :D

It only took about 2 years to get it fitted and running .. missed lots of sun .. but hopefuly can make use of it this year.

The performance you get from the V6 is well worth doing !

It was in a garage being done when the garaged closed down, so sat arround with engine in needing finishing. So just before Christmas I got my Ar5e into gear and finished it off !!

Cooling was the main problem !

If you need any info/help I will try and answer your questions.

Best of luck !!

I don't like the bonnet buldge too much but the rest of the car is class and I really like the alloys.

Have you got a spec list? Also what are you future plans?

Hi,

The bonnet buldge is more function than design, as lots of nasty hot air comes straight through the mesh !! ;)

Haven't realy had chance to do a spec sheet yet, but will do very soon !

Future Plans - To do lots of track days !!

I built convertible astra mk2 V6 last year.

It was a 'K' plate exsclusive. I loved the noise.

Wish I never sold it.

Good stuff...

What suspension are you using with the V6 in the Mk2? I've got my conversion coming together and am ready to buy a set of springs and dampers, but I'm unsure which way to go.

At the moment I am considering getting Cavalier V6 fronts and Mk2 rears, to go with my Cav front legs, Vectra brakes and other Vectra / Cav bits.

I'm pretty certain that Mk3 Astra bits will fit the Mk2, which means that Cav stuff ought to as well. I don't want it lowered to within a millimetre of its life, neither do I want it to be too hard a ride, or rub (obviously).

interested to know how you're getting on suspension wise, what you're running ans what you think of it.

Cheers, Ian.

Oh nearly forgot I have also changed 5th gear on the F20 box to one from a wide ratio F18, this means I now longer hit the rev limiter in 5th gear and gives a top speed of over 160mph :D

looking good......little unsure about the bonnet vent but how else you gonna cool that beast down in the summer heat.

top marks though, i have posted a question about opening up the number plate backing on mine and meshing it and putting number plate off to side but am undecided, maybe this would help the cooling of that beast of yours?

well done

Behind the number plate on mine is mesh and the number plate has been mounted slightly higher, this does help keep the engine cool and the vent helps to keep the rear bank on the V6 cool :D

First of all how ya? :)

Are those Rolling Road figures all at the wheels? Either way the 8v result, 127bhp, is very interesting  And good job with the V6.

And the back lights look really good. Your car reminds me of my old Cabby. It was white and fairly standard except the Zender splitter. I tinted the original back lights myself to go with the matt black on the boot lid. It really needs to be done. But your lights look a lot better. I was considering them for my current Cabby but I recently got a set of original Red/Tint ones that Opel put on a special edition of the Kadett Frisco in 1991. I've always liked them but Opel haven't been able to get them for years. I found them on eBay.de. They are Hatch back lights but It's a long story about why they fit and why I have to use them.

Very nice car man. Keep up the good work :grinning-smiley-043
