today i began the conversion to get my astra valvered up. attached are a few pics of the progress, I'll keep on updating till the engine is in and running... hopefully in 2 weeks time, it should be ready, but i'm still waiting for some parts.
good luck matey, I suggest a minor engine rebuild before you stick the c20xe in, I know its tempting just to get it in and get razzing but if you replace the head gasket, check the big ends and valve guides...etc just a general poke around you will know the engine better and also have peace of mind.
That Kadett GSi is in incredibly good condition too!
Finally the engine is in and running, I had a couple of problems and was waiting for some parts etc. but now everything is sorted.. here are a couple of pics..
Any suggestions/comments appreciated. cheers Edward
Only the obvious sugestion of putting an air filter on it lol, but i believe you were trying to find one on here a while back? Put a sock on it in the mean time, thats what ive had to do before lol. Looking good and im glad its all gone in a treat for you and is running! How is the performance, you happy with the difference in power?
Yes will have a filter soon, will buy one locally, K&N or green or something similar..
the engine came with a superchipped ECU, don't really know if it does make a difference, but performance wise, comparing to the 8v, it's much better, and rev's happier..
