I am 20 and having to retake my Drivers License for medical reasons.. And as my brother Wrapped my mint Mk1 MR2 around a tree... I was flicking through the Ads at the back of Fast Car as I am slowly settings up an aftermarket parts company... But anyway!! I found an Astra Mk2 GTE Convertible for sale for £650 on Cambridge (Which is a distance from me) but never the less my brother in law to me to have a look and it was in dire condition so I walked away if alittle down hearted then looking around on eBay I came across this:

http://img51.exs.cx/img51/374/p10100236yl.jpg

And I won it for £360  with only the rear bearings need tightening.. Body work is mint, paint has no chips just needs a good polish...

Plans:
1. Leather Interior
2. Small subbox and uprated speakers just to give the tunes a kick but not stupid like the majority of Nova drivers.
3. Having the wheels refurbished and polished.
4. Maybe lowered alittle
5. Custom airbox
6. QuickShift fuel cap as that plastic crap is annoying

Edit: And it was only 15miles from my house

Hello matey, nice tidy buy! I dont know why it is, but ebay seems to have so many of these cars for sale!

Very nice mate :) I would love one of these if I had extra space and money.

I take it that they never made a convertible with an XE in - it is a conversion right?

Are the doors any different to GTE hard top doors - just wondering if anybody had tried fitting the funky pillarless doors to a hard top?

Anyway, that looks like a lot of car for £360. The hood looks solid too :)
