G'day all,
Thought I'd post over here as I need to start using/supporting this site more :)
Some of you may know that I have a '89 Astra MkII CDi in White. I've owned it on or off for nearly 10 years and despite some abuse over the years it look pretty good ([size=0 from a distance lol[/size])
I'm aiming to get it back up to A1 condition this year and would really appreciate all the help/advice I can get..
To sum up what I aim to do:
New rear arches, Cills and Wings
Remove rust bubbles from around top of windscreen
Delock doors
Respray
Change existing Spax suspension kit for something nice (not bumpy and crashy)
Tidy up engine bay etc
Replace 16v breaks with something bigger
exchange rear beam with 16v disk version
The engine itself is in quite good condition compared to the last 40 a day smoking unit I had lol, although I'm thinking LET or TB's next year.
I'm really stuck as where to start with this. I've got no skills as such and dont have much disposable money. I really want this car to be back in tip top condition as its been a good charriot all the time I've owned it.
The mechanical side of the car is covered as my brother knows every inch of the car and has done all the work himself, however we dont have any bodyshop skills. He's recommended I just hand it over, pay the price and get all the work done in one go. He thinking of how long it would be before the rust comes through if we di it bit at a time etc.
The car itself can be off the road for as long as needed as I've got a company car, which is a bonus. This puts me a postion I've not been in before making its viable to go-ahead with the project.
Sorry for the garbled message guys.. Just trying to list all I can, while I remember it lol..
So I'm looking for any help/advice you may have plus names and numbers of people who can help out with the body work etc.
