This is my astra sxi in the early stages of fitting the GTE bumpers, the last picture is as you see it now.

Bought the car for £30 back in Aug 04.It had been sitting outside for over 2 years. Usual arches and sills rotten but was quickly sorted and MOT'd, passed first time was well chuffed. Two months later my mate (not anymore) run into the back of my beloved astra writing it off. DILEMMA sat for days wondering what to do :( , finding an ad in Total Vauxhall for a astra GTE red top 16v going cheap took gamble and never looked back. Nov 04 engine went in an all seemed well for a while till oil started pouring out of the engine, eventually found out all it was was a poorly fitted rocker gasket. Then just to kick me while im down the gearbox started leaking and took weeks to find it, many engine cleans later tied it down to a split inner gearbox gasket. I know, I know sob story an a half but at the moment all is well SO FAR!!!!. tried a few track days up the M1 in Northern Ireland and upset one particular 2.2 vectra who thought he would come an have a go nice try mate but no cigar. Well thats it for now bored you long enough. Till next time.

OH DEAR got oil traces building up in the header tank hope to hell its just the head gasket  . Time to strip an repair the engine with a rebuild.:duh:

14/04/05 Head rebuilt fingers crossed hopefully thats it cured after all the
worry an a few late nights it was a suspect head gasket PHEW.

15/04/05 all that hard work and the engine would only fire on three cylinders
 . After much debate and head scratching the problem was
found to be an injector problem so a quick clean up an job done.
This XE is now running better than ever, now a bit of tidying up on
the paint and that will be it for the summer hopefully, Ha yeah
right got the bug need more parts MUST...GO... FASTER!!!! :D .

15/05/05 Thats it had enough of this valver engine if its not one thing its
another so gonna go for the old reliable SEH so anyone looking for
an engine give me an Email.

09/06/05 GOT an SEH bonus now gonna strip it an build a MONSTER 8V
cant wait to track day to see what it can do. :D

19/02/06 My beloved astra is finally starting to come together, at the moment its in a mates body
shop getting the paint freshened up cause the laquer was starting to come away on the
rear doors. Sportex exhaust system has finally arrived along with the manifold so happy
with that, white dial kit back lit with blue leds should look pretty cool fingers crossed, as
they dont do plasma kits for the mk2 astra (BOOOO). GMAX suspension on a 30mm drop
and 15" cesaro wheels getting refurbished to so hopefully all done for june for the PV show.
Future plans are now reworked 8v head should see some fun on the open road.

17/5/06 Total let down by the body shop ingetting the paint job ie:- never happened after 4 months of waiting and 4 months of empty promises, so in show us yours there are some pictures of my astra after the bumpers were fitted before i left for sunny climates of foreign countries.
The picture in the avatar is how she is looking now i think she is pretty damn sexy looking for a 5 door.:Banane56:. A 40mm drop on GMAX, sportex exhaust system, Viper induction kit, F20 gearbox, T3 ETECH strut brace and my white dials with two tone blue back lit dials looks pretty cool. So far top speed has been a pretty impressive 140 mph, not bad for a 2 litre 8v GTE engine.:Banane35:
