  • 16v exhaust system on 8v body??

The engine is just coming out of the 16v now ready for it to be chucked in the 8v gte ive got... just wondering, can i use the full exhaust system off the 16v straight on to the 8v or is it a case of matching up the 16v manifold to the 8v system???
    cheers!

The standard 16v manifold and system will not fit your motor unless you use the gear linkage inside the car and cut the hole in the bulkhead for it. The standard 8v gearlinkage passes under the car where the 16v zorst runs.

    Cheers

Is cutting a hole in the bulkhead all you have to do to change the gear linkage to inside the car?

It would be much easier to mate the 16v down pipe to the 8v system, the seccond you start hacking the bulkhead about you open a can of beans, the only reason the linkage was moved to the inside of the car was to remove the slight kink in the exhaust, the removal of which released a whole 1 bhp!
